四川传媒学院始建于1997年，是经教育部批准设立的全日制本科院校。建校22年来，取得了令人瞩目的办学成果。2015年和2019年，分别被高校排名机构中国校友会网和武书连中国大学排行榜，列全国同类高校的第一名。

斥巨资购置高端专业器材，形成了独特的教学优势:高校首台4K超高清电视转播车用于现场直播教学和实践; 近2000台3D、4K、高清摄影摄像设备和高端数字摄影机，在摄影摄像实训中发挥作用;3000多台后期编辑设备和图形工作站，供学生学习后期剪辑;“西部第一录音棚”和百余间专业录音棚、音频制作工作室、大型摄影棚、艺体中心提供省级以上广播电视台的节目合成真实工作环境。与索尼、松下、佳能、苹果、联想、微软和惠普集团共建索尼4K演播室、索尼“未来影像实验室”、松下4K演播室、4K/8K影像应用创新实验室、C+超高清动态影像空间、ARRI超高清影像数字体验基地、长虹智慧校园创新中心、创维应用研发实验室、苹果培训认证中心、佳能影像工作坊、联想创新中心、惠普教育卓越中心、微软动力联合实验室，为追踪前沿的教学和科研，提供强大支撑;具有国际领先水平的“川传云”融合媒体实验教学中心、全媒体交互式演播中心和具备省级电视台标准的全景式电视新闻演播厅、广播直播间和虚拟演播室，培养出大批引领行业新潮流的高级专门人才。

四人一间的学生宿舍配备空调、电视、电话、淋浴、宽带网和直饮水机等，公寓楼配有自习室、洗衣房等设施，居住条件全国一流。院内全国高校首个电影院线、大型现代化健身中心、功能完备的智慧校园系统和“校园一卡通”，以及超市、商场、驾校、恒温游泳馆等，为广大同学提供了学习、生活的便利条件。
为了与国际接轨，拓宽同学们的国际视野，学校与包括美国明尼苏达大学、西伊利诺伊大学、纽约电影学院、韩国全州大学、韩国明知大学，日本道都大学、加拿大多伦多电影学院、新西兰约比设计学院等在内的美国、韩国、日本、加拿大、新西兰等多个国家的十余所院校开展了校际交流与合作，为同学们开通了专本连读、本硕连读和短期出国学习。与三所省内著名高校联合招收硕士研究生，为同学们开通了国内深造的渠道。

学院建校伊始，即坚定地走“应用型”办学道路。2015年，被四川省教育综合改革领导小组确定为首批向应用型“转型”高校后，更是倾尽全力打造转型“升级版”。以我校为依托建设的“府河源影视硅谷小镇”，被列入“四川省新闻出版广播影视 ‘十三•五’发展规划”， 以“成都影视硅谷”为核心区域的成都科技影视文创产业功能区，被成都市列为66个产业功能区之一。经科技部、国家科技奖励办公室批准，我校被中国产学研合作促进会评为“国家产学研合作创新示范基地”。以我校等单位为主体的“新一代专业功能聚合型国家级影视基地”，被四川省人民政府列入2020年前完成的“高清四川智慧广电”专项。与国家广电总局广科院共建的中国(成都)超高清创新应用产业基地，已经与业内多家知名企业签订了战略合作协议。未来在以我校为核心的产学研区域内，将拥有最先进的信息技术和最具创新的产学研合作模式，进而促进系列现代传媒的创新性成果的诞生。相信在不远的将来，一所全国一流、世界知名的应用型高校，必将由四川传媒学院升华而来!

Sichuan University of Media and Communications
Sichuan University of Media and Communications is a full-time regular undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. Located in Chengdu and covering an area of over 340 acres, SUMC is an important training base for modern media talents, featuring in media and art with multidisciplinary development. It offers more than 80 specialties, forming a disciplinary system covering the whole media industry chain.
To cultivate high-quality and applicable talents for modern media and art development, SUMC persists building up the most updated and professional hardware, and providing substantial support for the local economical development and national strategy as well.
SUMC holds the most advanced assembly of radio-television equipment, including the 3D HD mobile control room, over 2,000 sets of 3D, 4K and Ultra-HD cameras, more than 3,500 sets of post-editing devices and graphic image workstations. It has co-established with the Academy of Broadcasting Science, SART a state-level Ultra-HD audio-visual base and issued a guidance white paper for Ultra-HD TV program making. Moreover, it provides first-class equipment in line by the edge-leading fusion media teaching platform “SUMC Cloud”, all-media interactive studio center, panoramic news studios and on-air radio studios together, for teaching and practising, and a practical setting for media work, program producing and presenting, which also gives a full support for training from different levels of convergence media platforms over China.
The recording studios represented by the best known No.1 Recording Studio in Western China, the television studios and theaters represented by the No. 1 Platform for Variety Show in Asia, and hyper scale photo-studios serve as the best training base for industry-education integration and advanced manufacturing base for video-visual products.
A number of institutions co-established with Fortune 500 Companies have sprung up, such as Sony Image Lab, Sony 4K Television Studio, Panasonic 4K Television Studio, Apple Authorized Training Center (AATC), Canon Image Workshop, Lenovo Innovation Center, HP Teaching Center and Microsoft Co-lab, offering strong support and technical assurance for tracking advanced technology and cultivating talents.
Equipped with numerous art studios for painting, sculpture making, motion capturing, art exhibition, character designing and digital scenic painting, SUMC provides favourable conditions for teaching and practising of artistic designing and animation.
SUMC boasts the first college cinema in China, movie remixing studio and colour modulation studio, which not only fulfill the full process producing needs of film industry but the students’ keen awareness of cultural industry as well.
At present, the Fuheyuan Science and Education Industrial Park for Film and Television Media and the 120,000-square-metre industrial park for entrepreneurship and innovation on its new campus are shaping up, so is the Chengdu Film and Television Silicon Valley which integrates film and television production, cultural and creative industry, special effects makeup, data processing of film and television post-production, VR/AR film and television technology and culture-oriented tourism.
Dreamland for students, Cradle for talents
In October 2018, the final competition of the 45th Miss Globe International was held in Albania. As a contestant representing China, Yu Yizhou, an alumna of Sichuan University of Media and Communications, competed with the beauties from dozens of countries. She finally stood out and won the 45th Miss Global International. It was the first time a Chinese contestant won the first place in the history of the Miss Globe International.

SUMC has built a favorable environment to meet students’ needs and established a comprehensive regulatory scheme to ensure them a better development.
Meanwhile, in order to line with international standards and broaden horizons of students, we have embarked a variety of international exchange and collaboration programs with more than ten universities and colleges from the USA, the UK, Australia, Korea, Japan, Canada and New Zealand, including University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Western Illinois University, New York Film Academy, Jeonju University, Myongji University, Deakin University, Dohto University.
